I know it is no longer March but I had received my Ipsy bag a little later than usual because I was out of town. I really enjoyed the products that were in my March Glam Bag so I wanted to share. I love that there is always a variety of products that don’t necessarily focus on one specific area of beauty. During the month of March, I received hand cream, lip gloss, highlighter, face primer, and a nail file. Nothing is ever really too similar which makes experimenting all the more fun. I am super excited to see what April’s bag will bring. Hope you enjoy! I’d love to know your thoughts.
My skin has always been typically dry so lotion is a common necessity of mine and has been ever since I was a kid. When I was in middle school I noticed a small patch of “tapioca-like-bubbles” on the palm of my hands. They itched, burned, and became really irritating. Products such as dish soap (it’s probably why I hate doing dishes so much) and lotions with alcohol ingredients did not react well with my skin. It wasn’t until my freshman year of college that I visited a dermatologist and was told that I had a common type of eczema. I have a prescribed ointment to treat the irritation but I absolutely HATE using it because it does not absorb whatsoever. With that said, I am always interested in trying new creams/lotions that won’t irritate my eczema. This one from Organic Surge is thick and absorbent – not to mention it has the fresh lavender scent that is always soothing. It’s also suitable for eczema prone skin which is a plus for me.
Whenever I wear color on my lips, I shoot for a matte look. However, this shade is nude/pink that is very subtle. Sometimes lipstick can feel too dry which ends up looking terrible. This gives my lips a bit of color/shine without the dryness.
If I had to choose my favorite products I have ever received from Ipsy, this would be in my top 5. It is a blush, eyeshadow and highlighter all in one, but I regularly use it as a highlighter. I have only ever used a liquid highlighter but I prefer powders because they don’t feel heavy on my skin. I apply this on the bridge of my nose, the center of my chin, right above my cheekbones, and on the center of my forehead. The shimmer gives a healthy looking glow and this product has become a staple in my make-up routine. Manna Kadar only has one color available, Fantasy (Nude Blush Pink) which really compliments all skin tones. Their picture looks more of a bronze shade but it’s more of a rosy gold color.
I love using gel-like primers before I apply my lotion and makeup. I have never purchased a primer myself but I always seem to use the primers Ipsy sends me right away. It gives my skin that extra bit of hydration without the overloaded feeling of heavy lotion. This one from Make Up For Ever is super absorbent and almost dries instantly. It makes your face feel a little tight, which I have found that I like. The brand has several different primers to choose from depending on what your skin type is. I am interested in trying more!
I actually really dislike clipping my fingernails- the feeling of it just makes me cringe. I would much rather prefer filing my nails. I typically use a strong (basically sand paper) nail file to shorten and shape my fingernails. This one has like no grit at all and is meant as a buffer. It doesn’t seem like it does much of anything because it’s so soft. To me, it just makes my nails a little shiner.
