Ipsy : December Glam Bag

If it works, why change it, is basically the motto I live by when it comes to beauty products. I have a certain regimen when it comes to my beauty routine and usually just stick with what works best for me. (like I’ve literally been using the same brand of mascara for 7+ years). When I find something I really like/enjoy, I become a total advocate. Back in August I signed up with Ipsy to receive their monthly “glam bags”. Basically, you get to sample/test 5-6 beauty products each month (& they are different each time). I wasn’t sure how often I would be willing to try something new or even find something that I liked. But after several months of sampling new products, I am totally loving it. I seriously can’t wait for my next Ipsy bag to arrive each month so that I can try something new. Several of the products that I’ve received, I have loved and ended up purchasing them again.

Each month I plan on sharing my monthly glam bag and assessing each of the products based on my own personal liking/disliking. ALSO–I know, it’s obviously not December anymore but I realllllly liked some of the products in my glam bag so I wanted to share 😉

My skin is perpetually dry in the winter so any extra hydration helps. I always use a good facial moisturizer before applying my makeup. I’ve typically opted to not over do it with the lotion because too much product can leave my skin feeling heavy and looking oily. Serums are the best option to add extra hydration without the added heaviness. I applied this serum from Caudalie before my moisturizer and it made a significant difference in my skin. The serum itself goes on lightly and absorbs quickly, making my skin feel refreshed and dewy. It also smells really good, which is always a bonus. I would definitely purchase this product again.

I enjoy having my nails painted, it kind of makes me feel like I have my life together. I often get shellac on my nails because it’s longer lasting and also dries instantly. But, when I find the time, I do enjoy painting my own. I haven’t had the chance to paint my nails with this polish, but I do plan on it. The color is a shimmery copper with pink tones that will be perfect for the month of February!

To me, lipstick is one of those things I wish I could say I never leave the house without, but that is certainly not the case. Lipstick is typically the finishing touch to anyone’s makeup application but it’s definitely the one thing that I often overlook. If it wasn’t for Ipsy, my lipstick collection would be slim. That being said, when I do actually remember to apply lipstick, I typically choose a color that’s light, nude, and not too bold. The Pacifica lipstick that Ipsy sent is a combination of nude and orange that offers an alternative to an average nude shade. The lipstick itself doesn’t last very long. I really like the color, but not a huge fan of the feel/texture.

Like I mentioned before, I don’t wear lipstick that often, therefore I don’t wear lip liner consistently. When I do wear lipstick though, I prefer to apply lip liner. Lip liner allows for an easier application of lipstick. Also, this lip liner almost perfectly matches the lipstick that Ipsy sent so I like to wear them together.

I always like to keep hand lotion in my purse, especially in the winter. There is nothing worse than rough, dry hands and cracked cuticles. When I first used this lotion, I felt like I was in middle school again when girls would bring their entire bottle of vanilla bean Bath&BodyWorks lotion to school and it would get passed around the classroom because every girl would just have to have some.. and within seconds the entire room smelt like a literal vanilla bean. Basically, what i’m saying is this lotion has a super strong scent. Although it’s not vanilla bean, it’s a strong, tangy smell that smells like I just peeled a tangerine. It’s not bad, but I’m definitely no longer applying it while I’m sitting in a room full of people.

Hi would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using?

I’m looking to start my own blog in the near
future but I’m having a hard time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique.
P.S My apologies for getting off-topic but I
    had to ask!

Hi, I use WordPress. I have a web designer that helps me out because it’s pretty difficult to navigate. However, with WordPress, you can make it unique with all of the options it offers. I hope that was helpful! If you have anymore questions let me know.
